Sensibo
About the vendor and its products
Sensibo was originally a company that was focused around one product called Sensibo Sky. Later, new products have been launched and span:
Sensibo Sky, a device that allows controlling a wide range of air conditioning/climate control products from a smart phone/tablet/etc. This is achieved by simulating the original remote control signals and thus offers true remote control.
Sensibo Air, consisting of a control device for climate control devices and a separate sensor for motion, temperature, and humidity (this product is compatible with Apple Home)
Sensibo Air Pro, an upgraded version of the air where the air quality sensor is built into the device
Sensibo Pure, a smart air purifier launched in the spring of 2021, which has support for Apple Home
As a starting point, this is done using Sensibo’s own app, but there is also support for integration with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT. Via a Homebridge plugin, it is also possible to integrate with Apple Home, while some products launched from February 2021 have native Apple Home support.
Our experiences
Since we had a Panasonic heat pump/inverter which otherwise is not possible to control in any other way than by using the original remote control, we installed a Sensibo Sky, see more details under the living room. The experiences with the products were largely good, although at one point, we had to get a new unit from Sensibo (covered by warranty) since the old one had problems with the mesh WiFi system in the house. However, since it did not support Apple Home and the integration did not always work as intended, it was replaced with a similar solution from tado. Now we have a Pure air purifier and this has worked very well, including the integration with Apple Home.
