Nest
About the vendor and its products
Nest, which is owned by Google, started out producing a smart thermostat. Gradually, the product offerings have expanded with a number of smart home categories (and lately, the nest brand has been integrated into the Google branding). Not all of these are for sale or suitable for use in Europe, but the product selection spans:
Smart thermostats, which come in a couple of versions
Security cameras, these come in versions for indoor and outdoor use and with features like face recognition
Doorbell, under the name of Nest Hello, also this with face recognition and other smart features
Smoke detector, Nest Protect, which can be combines with a camera to form a security package
More extensive security system, Nest Secure, with different components
The Nest products are controlled from a dedicated Nest app and are otherwise compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and IFTTT, but not Apple Home (there is, however, a product, Starling Home Hub, which gives Apple Home support, in practice via a device that implements Homebridge-plugin for Nest).
Our experiences

Google Nest Hub |
Living room | This is a base station for Google Home, with a rather nice screen. In our case, it is primarily a digital photo frame, for which it works well, even though the screen is smaller than on the iPad we used before. |
