Meross
About the vendor and its products
Meross is a relatively young Chinese company, but one that still offers a rather broad ranger of products for the smart home. The products are divided across a number of categories (notice that some of the products are region-specific):
Smart plugs/smart power strips, spanning a number of different types, for both indoor and outdoor use
Lighting, an extensive category spanning both smart bulbs, a smart light strip that is as much as 10 m long, smart lamps, and smart switches
Garage door openers, also here in some different versions
Roller shutter switch for controlling window coverings
Smart thermostat, for valve-based radiators
Smart humidifier and in May 2021 a smart air purifier was announced
Sensor for temperature and humidity
Smart "baby machine", a combined smart lamp and audio player for soothing sounds
Smarte remote controls, in a couple of versions
Base station, which is required for some of the products
There is a dedicated Meross app for setup and control of the products. This varies from product to product, but there is often compatibility with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Samsung SmartThings, and IFTTT.
Our experiences

Smart WiFi Garage Door Opener | Garage (uninstalled) | We have uninstalled it now, but we had the version with Apple Home support, primarily acquired since our existing smart garage dor opener, Tailwind, not had been updated with such support. Installing the opener was very easy, especially since some cable clips and other material had been installed with the Tailwind device and which could be utilized now. Integration into Apple Home was also straightforward, and Meross quickly fixed, through a firmware update, a bug that meant the door status always showed as "Opening...", whether it was open or closed. |
Basement living room/garage | When we were looking for a smoke detector that was Apple Home compatible, there were some options to choose among, but this one from Meross was by far the cheapest. Setting up was easy, and (fortunately) we have not had any need for it, but it keeps watch over the garage. |

Smart Roller Shutter |
Living room | This is a smart up/down switch for window coverings, which in our case replaced a smart control relay from Fibaro, which was placed behind an old-fashioned up/down switch. It is both elegant having such an integrated product and this one is supported by Apple Home. Auto-calibration made the installation very easy. |
Smart WiFi Air Purifier | This was a little tricky to get into Apple Home at the fikset setup, men after this it has worked well. It can be a bit noisy at higher fan speeds, but this is no problem at lower speeds. | |
Smart WiFi Thermostat | Basement living room | This was installed after one of our heatmiser thermostats stopped working. The panel is less bright, but has more setting options, and works well. |
