Yale

About the vendor and its products
Yale is a large player within locks and security-related products. When it comes to products relevant for smart homes, these are the most relevant ones:
Smart door locks, in some different versions, but notice that the range of products and their names differ from country to country
Smart home alarms, either in different packages or as individual components of a wide variety
Security cameras, again in different versions, as well as indoor smart cameras
Smart rock for cabinets, drawers, etc., called Smart Cabinet Lock, which can be remotely controlled in connection with a Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge (it is not easy to find more information about this)
Smart box for receiving deliveries, called Smart Delivery Box, which can be placed outside the house and remotely opened
- Smart safe, for safe storage of items, but it is not water or fire proof
The products are controlled using a Yale Smart Home App, but some are also compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
Our experiences
Notice that on phones, the table might only display in landscape mode

Yale Doorman smart door lock |
We have a version with a connection module from Verisure installed, which integrates it into the alarm system and also means it can appear in Apple Home through the Homebridge plugin for Verisure (but this gives no real benefits so we have removed it). We are very satisfied with the Yale lock, but only after we had to buy a different type of box staple to properly close in all types of weather/temperatures. My only complaint is the lack of Apple Home support, which several other locks on the market now offer, but this might be taken care of soon by an accessory module from August, which is said to be launched in Europe soon. |
