About the vendor and its products

Nanoleaf delivers smart lighting products, but often with a unique twist to at least some of the products, which include:

  • Light Panels, sets of panels that can be assembled in different patterns (and combined with a Rhythm that makes the light panels visualize music)

  • Other types of “light kits”, like Canvas, a different type of panels, and Lines, a type of “rigid” light strips

  • Essentials, a new line launched in 2020, currently consisting of a smart bulb and light strip, both boasting of very high lumen values, and based on the Thread protocol

  • Smart light bulbs/bulb kits (some of these require a base station), in different lines; Smart Ivy, a black, multifaceted bulb, One, another unconventional bulb, Bloom, a further development of One, and Gem, a more traditional bulb

  • Nanoleaf Remote, a twelve-sided remote control that can be used with both Nanoleaf light sources and other Apple Home products

Nanoleaf has its own app, Nanoleaf Smarter Series, but the products can also be controlled from other apps for compatible platforms. The products are based on the Zigbee protocol and mostly compatible with Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT.

Nanoleaf Essentials E27 smart bulb

Living room

This bulb is in the aquarium to have a red light here. After having tried a couple of other colored bulbs, which los connected when placed in such a “metal chamber”, this is stable in staying online.

Nanoleaf Essentials smart lightstrip x 2

Kitchen

These are very nice and probably one of the Apple Home compatible devices that have been the easiest to set up. They use Bluetooth/Thread and have proven very stable. With good brightness and the possibility of very colored light, they serve us well on top of the kitchen cabinets.
