About the vendor and its products

HomeSeer has an extensive collection of products for smart homes, including software. As is the case for many suppliers, the product selection offered for the North-American market is greater than other regions, where also sensors, lighting products, etc. are included. For the European market, as far as I can tell, only base stations are available. These come in different editions and price levels, from HomeTroller Zee S2 to more powerful versions.

HomeSeer supports Z-Wave, Insteon, X10 and several other standards. The base stations acts as a server, meaning HomeSeer software must be installed. Control of devices is then through an app/voice control.

Our experiences

I have no personal experiences with HomeSeer, it undoubtedly represents a step up in both automation power and complexity from what I am playing around with.
