About the vendor and its products

PowerTech is a Taiwanese company (with manufacturing in China) supplying a broad range of products for electrical systems. Part of the product selection is centered around "smart power" and spans different types of products:

• A number of different types of smart plugs, for different types of power sockets in use around the world and based either on Zigbee or WiFi. These also have functions for energy measurement and surge protection (there is also a version for outdoor use, but not for European plugs)

• Several types of smart power strips, also these with similar functionality as the smart plugs (there are no European editions of these)

• Smart wall outlets, to replace existing wall outlets (there are no European editions of these)

• Smart light switches, to replace existing wall switches (there are no European editions of these)

• Some sensors, primarily motion sensors (with other measurements) and door/window sensor, based either on Zigbee or Bluetooth

PowerTech has its own Appspower app, but there is also support for Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant (but it seems a bit random which products support which platform).
