About the vendor and its products

Rachio is an American company focusing exclusively on one type of product; control of smart watering. As of today, two main products and some accessories are for sale:

• Generation 2 Smart Sprinkler Controller, the “previous” generation of control device for watering

• Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller, the newest edition

• Wireless Flow Meter, to measure water flow

• Weatherproof housing

The products are connected to an existing sprinkler system, if one has one, if not a sprinkler system must be installed. The control of the watering is based on weather data and operated through a Rachio app. In addition, the system is compatible with a number of platforms; Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Google Assistant, Nest, IFTTT, and SmartThings.

The Rachio products are really made for the North American market, which is reflected in the power supply, connections, etc. Many people report os using them without any problems in Europe, though, as long as the power supply is replaced with a suitable one. Rachio claims to have plans for a European launch, but no timeline for this.
