About the vendor and its products
Roku (opens in a new window) is an American company that started out as, and perhaps still mainly is, a supplier of streaming boxes. In 2022, the company also launched a series of smart home products, built on Wyze (opens in a new window) products. The portfolio consists of:
- Smart cameras, for indoor and outdoor use
- Smart video doorbells, wired or battery-powered
- Smart lighting, consisting of various smart bulbs and lightsstrips
- Smart plugs, for for indoor and outdoor use
The products are controlled using a dedicated Roku Smart Home Mobile App (opens in a new window), but are also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and Apple Home support has been announced.
Our experiences
We have no experiences with smart home products from this vendor, but we did have one of the very first streaming boxes, albeit one mainly intended for music playback.
